Additional Information

Sumner Gantz was born and raised in Ball Ground, GA. He began playing as a
sophomore in high school and eventually was recruited to Piedmont College
after playing for the Atlanta Travel Lacrosse program the summer leading
into his senior year. While at Piedmont, Sumner was a four-time captain and
earned the Lion Award for his dedication to the team and community.
Additionally, he holds the career record for faceoffs taken (1010),
assists, groundballs, games played/started, and caused turnovers from SSDM.
After completing his collegiate campaign, Sumner joined the Piedmont
College coaching staff while pursuing his MBA. As a coach Sumner was
responsible for the offensive side of the ball (practice plans, overall
strategy/sets/plays, in-game adjustments, extra man offense), face-off
development and wing play, strength and conditioning development, and
recruiting. Alongside his coaching career at Piedmont College, Sumner has
spent the last seven years with the Atlanta Travel Lacrosse summer team
where he has won eight tournament championships. He recently moved to
Loganville, GA and is currently working for BSN Sports as the Lacrosse
Specialist in the State of Georgia.
